Pots and containers offer you a great way to keep the flowers, beauty and hummingbirds coming all year long in your low-water landscape, but how do you take care of a native plant or succulent in a pot? Nopalito co-owner Antonio Sanchez teaches you what type of soil, fertilizer and plants to use in different types of containers, and this unique workshop includes plenty of hands-on chances to pot up your own plants and re-pot some old ones!
The class will cover the absolute best California native plants for pots both big and small, along with some really neat (yeah, we said neat!) ideas for using succulents in containers. Bring your old pots and plants and learn how to correctly replant them, or bring your Visa card and get ready to spend money on lots of new plants, pots and soil at Nopalito.
Antonio Sanchez is co-owner of Nopalito Native Plant Nursery and a huge L.A. Kings and Los Tigres Del Norte fan. After years of working in and studying Sustainable Agriculture, he developed a love for the most sustainable of all plants, plastic indoor plants…oops, we mean California native plants. He has done time at some of the most respected native plant institutions in the state, including Cal Flora Nursery, the Theodore Payne Foundation for Native Plants, and Santa Barbara Botanic Garden.
